Unsolicited Advice

Standard

It has come to my attention that some people reading this blog are in the process of moving over seas or considering moving over seas. You should know that my blog time line started one week before we were to leave.

Yes, you heard right, we did not have our visas or a place to live until one week before ETD. The process was long and complicated. We actually began the planning in late June and it was still quite rushed. My best piece of advice is count on the unexpected, never count on someone to actually work on your timeline – follow up, follow up, and follow up again, and be prepared to always feel like things could completely fall apart at any moment.
It’s sort of like having a child: you are so wrapped up in the moment to moment process of the whole thing that it’s hard to see the bigger picture or to just sit back and enjoy the ride. But if you can be persistent and flexible you will get there.
If anyone has specific questions I would be happy to answer them. Just leave me a comment!
